Yoga Teacher Training Option
Participation in the 12 Day Immersion earns you nearly 144 contact hours of training.
To be recognized as a certified yoga teacher by the Yoga Alliance, you must complete 200 hours. The YOGA TEACHER TRAINING OPTION allows you to complete your training and be eligible to register with the Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher.
If you are traveling to participate in this training and are from the NYC/NJ area, you can complete this portion with Cliff and/or Sarah in NY. If you are traveling from another location, you are welcome to work with a local yoga teacher for the practicum portion of the training. Please contact us with questions.
To complete the 200hr training you will be offered a selection of the following - to be determined by your mentor upon completing the Immersion on June 23.
- Attend an anatomy & physiology practical weekend (date TBA)
- Book Reports to be evaluated by Training Mentor, Brooke Cannoot and/or Sarah Tomlinson and Cliff Schuman. Texts to Include: The Hatha Yoga Pradipika, the Yoga Sutras, and The Bhagavad Gita, plus a text of the student's choosing (more details soon)
- Attend 10 Yoga Classes with at least 5 different instructors and journal your experience.
- Assist a STSY teacher in 5 different classes and journal your experience.
- Observe ONE Therapeutic Yoga Session
- Teach 3 Vinyasa Classes which are open to the public and to be reviewed by your mentor and your peers.
